The Albany Fund for Education (AFE) is a not-for-profit corporation in the City of Albany, NY that connects good ideas with community resources to enrich the education and address the challenges of students in the Albany city school district — a district with tremendous assets but also a 60% poverty rate.
- We serve as an incubator for good ideas, nimbly providing a home for them to grow and then sometimes transitioning them when established to long-term administrators outside AFE.
- We also channel funds and resources to help support good ideas generated by teachers and staff who know well what students need to succeed.
- We’re also keenly attentive to addressing gaps associated with economic and racial inequities.
