Together with community partners, AFE is helping students become stewards of the urban forest and of environmentally sound practices.
Albany Goes Green supports school-based gardens at several schools in the district. Since 2009, students have also planted over 400 trees in annual Albany Goes Green Arbor Day celebrations at schools and other public city land. More than 60 teachers have been introduced to environmental activities that support NYS’s Core Curriculum through Project Learning Tree trainings that Albany Goes Green helped facilitate. Albany Goes Green is helping our urban student population grow to love and care for the environment.
On April 28, 2023, AFE and the Albany Goes Green Coalition planted twelve trees with first graders at Eagle Point Elementary School.
