Donate a Computer to Help a Student in Need!

Although the Albany School District ordered enough Chromebooks for each student, they are on backorder and have not arrived. Budget cuts have forced Albany to place all learning online for grades 7-12,  yet many households have only one device for multiple kids. We must act as soon as possible to make sure children can keep learning. To get students online and learning, the Albany Fund for Education and the Palace Theatre are working together to collect and distribute donated computers.

If you or your business have gently used computers you can donate, we will distribute them to students who need them. To ensure that students receive devices in good condition for learning, please complete this screening formIf your machine is a good fit for an Albany student, we will contact you about drop-off procedures. We  will wipe all hard drives to ensure that devices are clean before distributing them. You can also make a cash donation to allow us to purchase refurbished laptops at discounted non-profit prices.

Do you have a student in Albany Public Schools who needs a computer for virtual learning? We are currently taking referrals for donated computers, and will contact you when we have one available. To get on the list, please fill out this form
